Tiger Woods is to sign a sponsorship deal with Japanese pain relief brand Vantelin Kowa, his first endorsement deal since the scandal surrounding his personal life led to him being dropped by numerous brands.
According to a tweet by CNBC’s sports business reporter Darren Rovell, Woods will start appearing in Vantelin Kowa ads from July.
Rob Atkinson, managing director of Clear Channel Outdoor UK, has been promoted to the new role of chief operating officer.
In this his new position, Atkinson will be responsible for driving the day-to-day performance of the direct operational functions at the out-of-home company, including sales, marketing, development and operations.
Comparison site Gocompare.com has signed up opera singer Wynne Evans as Gio Compario for another series of TV ads over the next year.
The opera singer’s latest set of ads will air from Friday (1 July). Created by Gocompare’s in-house marketing team, Gio Compario will be transported back in time in a Regency period sedan chair in a spot called ‘Luxury Sedan’.
CNBC, the global business and financial news channel, has appointed Marina Kissam as director of marketing for EMEA, based in London.
Kissam starts immediately and will have overall responsibility for marketing, with a particular focus on sales marketing.

The corporate and investment banking arm of RBC named Mark Goldstein as a managing director in its U.S. financial sponsors investment banking group and Charles Smith as a managing director in its U.S. leveraged finance investment banking group.

The firm named Noel Donohoe to a newly created position as executive managing director and group chief risk officer. Donohoe will join DTCC in August and will oversee the organization’s enterprise risk management, operational risk management and systemic risk teams.
The global securities and investment banking firm named Tom Holleb as a managing director in investment grade corporate bond sales. Holleb, who joins the firm from Barclays, will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Deutsche Bank appointed Tom Jarck as a managing director and head of US index flow trading in global equity derivatives. Jarck was most recently head of US index flow, ETFs and ETF options trading for Citigroup in New York.
BNP PARIBAS Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) promoted Benjamin Jacquard as global head of credit trading. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Jacquard built and managed exotic credit trading and structuring teams at Bank of America, Credit Agricole and CPR.
Threadneedle has appointed Gareth Simmons and Jenny Wong as part of its high yield bond team. Simmons joins from Morgan Stanley and Wong from Putnam Investments.
Invesco appointed Fredrik Cygnaeus as head of wholesale sales for the Nordic region. Prior to this, Cygnaeus worked for nine years at Fidelity as a relationship director for the Nordic region covering both retail and institutional investors.
