London 2012 organiser Locog is to launch a major campaign to inform brands how it will clamp down on ambush marketing in the build-up to the Olympic Games.
It will begin the activity in September, in a drive to avoid a repeat of the guerrilla marketing tactics seen at the last FIFA World Cup.

Almost half of Facebook members are considering leaving the social network, according to a survey commissioned by Marketing.
While 46% of the 1300 adult respondents surveyed by OnePoll said they had thought about leaving Facebook, or had already left, that number increased to more than 50% when focusing on the over-45s.

Former Starcom business director Jamie Pearson has resurfaced as UK media director at corporate barter company Astus. Pearson, who will take up his new role next month, will report to David Jones, who was promoted from media director to UK managing director in January. He will be responsible for the media placement of Astus’ 115 clients.

JCDecaux, the outdoor media owner, has appointed Absolute Radio’s advertising director Paul Carolan to the new role of commercial director, as part of a new wave of appointments and promotions. Stacey Knight, currently group head of sales at the Fox-owned men’s lifestyle website IGN, has been appointed to the position of head of digital at JCDecaux, while group business director David Lambert has been promoted to director of agency and specialist sales.

Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), the publisher of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror, has promoted head of strategic sales Yvon Nolle to the new role of head of newspapers, as part of a rejig of its commercial offering. Nolle joined MGN in 2008, in the role of head of strategic sales. He had previously spent eight years at News International, where he was head of retail advertising.


The Wall Street bank has hired Keshav Sanghi from Citigroup as managing director and head of equities in India, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters.


The banking arm of Citigroup said it named Patricia McDermott as managing director and head in Connecticut and Westchester. McDermott, who will be based in Greenwich, joins from Bank of America’s U.S. Trust private banking unit


The asset management company appointed Andrew Dyson as executive vice-president and head of global distribution based in London. Dyson joins from BlackRock , where he served as head of the global institutional client business.


The wealth management unit of BNP Paribas SA in Hong Kong said Chief Executive Serge Janowski has resigned. The firm said Mignonne Cheng will serve as interim CEO.


The unit of BNP Paribas SA made the following appointments within its structured finance business — Prema Balakrishnan has been appointed head of project finance; Charlotte Conlan as head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) origination and sales for loan syndications & trading for EMEA; Emmanuel Rogy as head of Energy & Commodity Finance for EMEA; and Andrew Shapiro as head of structured finance, the UK.


The UK unit of India-based Avendus Capital appointed Roger Yeoman as its head of institutional equities for Europe. Yeoman last served at Morgan Stanley.


The exchange appointed Julie Heng as senior vice-president and head of commodities from June 22. Heng joins from Mercuria Energy Trading.

The alternative investment business of Cowen Group Inc appointed Adrian Schultes as a managing director and head of distribution in New York for Ramius Alternative Solutions LLC. Schultes joins from Pacific Investment Management Co.


The real estate investment business of Deutsche Bank AG’s (DBKGn.DE) asset management division said Mark Roberts joined as a managing director and global head of research. Roberts joins from Invesco Real Estate.


The real estate private equity fund manager said Josh Cleveland joined the firm as partner. Cleveland is a former director of Business Development at Liquid Realty Partners.
