‘X Factor’ runner-up Rebecca Ferguson has become the female version of greedy, thieving Gary Linker, in Walkers’ new Sunbites TV ad. The ad, created by AMV BBDO, launched across press, online, social media and TV on Saturday night during the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final.

EHS 4D group chief executive Matt Atkinson is leaving the agency to take up a global role as group marketing and digital officer at Tesco. Atkinson will report to Tesco’s deputy chief executive and global CMO Tim Mason, who runs the Fresh & Easy chain in the US. Atkinson has been involved with Tesco as a key agency partner for many years. He has recently been actively involved in the development and rollout of new initiatives for Clubcard in the UK.

VCCP’s creative director Steve Vranakis is leaving the agency to join Google Creative Lab as a creative director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Vranakis had worked at VCCP for eight years, overseeing award-winning campaigns for O2, Coca-Cola and Comparethemarket.com.

National Magazine Company chief executive Arnaud de Puyfontaine has been appointed as executive vice president of parent company Hearst’s international magazine division. The appointment of de Puyfontaine comes amid a raft of other senior appointments following Hearst’s £574m takeover of French media group Lagardère’s Hachette international magazine business.

Reebok’s top global marketer, Richard Prenderville, has left the sportswear business after five years in the job. Prenderville, head of global brand marketing, has departed to pursue “other opportunities”. He will be replaced by Viktoria Wallner, who previously headed Reebok’s digital marketing. Wallner will be responsible for global advertising, PR, digital, marketing, social media and creative services.


The investment banking firm appointed Naomi Kumagai, Makarim Salman and Masahiro Wakasugi as senior equity research analysts based in Tokyo.


The provider of financial services to institutional investors appointed Isabelle Brancart as head of sales and relationship management for Switzerland. Brancart joins from Deutsche Bank

The wealth management company appointed John O’Hara as a managing director and senior adviser, based in New York. He most recently served as chief operating officer of Franklin Street Partners.
