Tesco has appointed deputy chairman of Barclays, Sir Richard Broadbent, as its new chairman, completing the change at the top for Tesco, which began with the appointment of Philip Clarke as chief executive.
Broadbent takes over as chair on 30 November on the retirement of current chair David Reid, but he will join the Tesco board as a non-executive director from 2 July.

Mindshare Worldwide has hired David Pullan, the former marketing director at Channel 5, as the global head of its Unilever account.
He replaces Helen McRae, who is going on maternity leave but plans to return to the agency at the end of the year in a new management role.

Graham Fink: leaves M&C Saatchi to join Ogilvy & Mather China

M&C Saatchi’s creative director Graham Fink is leaving the agency to join Ogilvy & Mather China. Fink, who has been at M&C since 2005, will take on the newly created role of chief creative officer for Ogilvy’s China operations, responsible for overseeing the creative department across 17 offices.

Publicis Chemistry, the direct marketing agency formed following Publicis Group UK’s acquisition of Chemistry Communications earlier this year, has named David Prideaux as its executive creative director.

M&C Saatchi Group has poached the Iris Worldwide integrated planning director, Christian Purser, to be its head of digital strategy. Purser has worked at Iris for a year, leading the agency’s digital strategy team and handling clients such as Philips, Volkswagen and Barclaycard.

Neil Hourston, Grey’s chief strategy officer for EMEA, is leaving the agency. Hourston is quitting to work on a new project, not thought to be directly related to advertising.

Paul Meadows, head of brand at LG, and Paul Trueman, marketing director of LG Electronics, have both left their jobs in a major shake-up of the brand’s marketing department.

Sky Media, BSkyB’s ad sales house, has appointed former Ids research director Andrew McIntosh to the new role of head of brand strategy.

MediaCom has appointed Selina Firth as board strategy director, with specific responsibility for the GlaxoSmithKline account.

TIAA-CREF

The U.S. financial services firm appointed Lindy Sherwood as president of Kaspick & Company, its wholly owned investment management firm. Sherwood joins from financial services company Northern Trust Corp .

BNP PARIBAS

The firm appointed Julian van Kan as the European head of its financial institutions group (FIG), as the bank strengthens its FIG business. Van Kan was previously global head of loan syndication and trading and acting EMEA loan head. [ID:nLDE74B22X]

CIBC

The financial firm hired Geoff Belsher and Harry Culham as group co-heads, to its wholesale banking business. CIBC also hired John Orr, CEO of FirstCaribbean International Bank, as executive vice-president, strategy and corporate development.

RAND MERCHANT BANK

The division of South Africa’s FirstRand appointed Roy Daniels as head of trading, Africa. Daniels joins from Standard Bank, where he was head of Africa forex trading.

JPMORGAN CHASE & CO

The Wall Street bank said it appointed Andrew Butcher to the newly created position of chief administrative officer, Asia Pacific. Butcher, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins from Citigroup .

KPMG

FIDELITY INTERNATIONAL

The money manager said it appointed Mark Talbot as managing director, Asia ex-Japan, effective June 27. Talbot joins from Barclays Global Investors. The firm also named Judy Marlinski as president for Japan, effective June 1. [ID:nL3E7GC0TR]

AMLIN PLC

The specialist insurer said it appointed Kim Hvirgel as chief executive of its wholly owned Netherlands-based unit, ACI. Hvirgel was previously the CEO at Codan Forsikring — Royal & Sun Alliance’s Danish unit.

VERITAS ASSET MANAGEMENT

The specialist investment boutique named Lucy Colback as fund manager and investment analyst to work across the group’s Asian strategies.

RENAISSANCE CAPITAL

The emerging markets investment bank said it appointed three Hong Kong-based analysts. Matthew Whittall has been appointed as head of Asian Metals & Mining research, Leavitt Pope as metals & mining analyst and Jenny Wong as oil & gas analyst.

PIPELINE TRADING SYSTEMS

The broker named Hans Heidle as a director of Execution Management Consulting. Heidle joins from Investment Technology Group where he was the vice-president of research in the Financial Engineering Group.
