David Gilbertson, chief executive of business-to-business publisher Emap, has left the company with immediate effect.
It is understood the decision for Gilbertson’s departure was reached “mutually”, with Emap’s joint investors, private equity group Apax Partners and Guardian publisher Guardian Media Group. The company said it expects to give an update on its succession plans “in due course”.

Neil Hourston, Grey’s chief strategy officer for EMEA, is leaving the agency.
Hourston is quitting to work on a new project, not thought to be directly related to advertising.

Dennis Publishing has appointed Timothy Webb to the newly created role of international director.
Webb will be responsible for exploring opportunities in south-east and southern Asia, China and South America, with the view to expanding Dennis’ brands internationally.

O2 has appointed Tom Hosking, Microsoft’s Windows Live sales lead, as the head of its personalised marketing arm O2 More.
Hosking will be responsible for growing O2 More’s user base, which recently exceeded two million people, by improving the offers available and packaging audiences for partners.

CITIGROUP

Doug Baird, a managing director of U.S. equity capital markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will join Citigroup in August as chairman of equity capital markets. Baird spent almost four years at Bank of America initially as co-head of equity capital markets.

DEUTSCHE BANK

The bank hired Brian Fagen as a managing director and head of North America execution services sales. Fagen, who will be based in New York, joins from Barclays Capital .

MF GLOBAL EQUITIES

The brokerage, a unit of MF Global Holdings Ltd , said Nicholas Tanner has joined as head of Asian Sales in London. Most recently, Tanner worked in portfolio management at Boyer Allan.

CIBC

The Canadian bank said it appointed Sekhar Angepat and Andrew Fleming as executive directors of Debt Capital Markets.

MILLENNIUM GLOBAL

The specialist currency and asset manager said it appointed Monica Fan as its new head of business development, effective May 16. Previously, Fan was the global head of currency product engineering at State Street Global Advisors.

BNY MELLON ASSET MANAGEMENT

The umbrella organization for BNY Mellon’s investment management firms said it named Rumi Masih as a senior investment strategist in the investment strategy and solutions group. Masih, who will be based in New York city, joins from JP Morgan Asset Management.

ERSTE BANK HUNGARY

The European lender said Radovan Jelasity will join the bank, effective June 1. Subsequent to required approvals, he will be appointed chief executive, chief financial officer and chairman.

MULVANEY CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

The UK-based company said it appointed Dudley Fishburn as non-executive chairman.

AVIVA INVESTORS

The British insurer Aviva’s asset management arm said it appointed Nancy Utterback and Alessandro Rovelli as senior credit analysts within the Credit Team, based in London.

The firm also hired Rob Watson as managing director of financial institutions for North America. Watson was previously global product and strategic relationships director at the firm.

SAV CREDIT LTD

The specialist credit card provider said it appointed Stephen Rowland to the newly created role of general counsel and chief administration officer. Rowland joins from Santander where he was the legal and compliance director for the UK Cards business.

CANADA LIFE

The group insurance provider said it made two new appointments within its group insurance sales division. Danielle Richings heads the newly developed Sales Support Team. Jason Adams takes over management of the business development unit based in Bristol.

ESPÍRITO SANTO INVESTMENT BANK

The Portuguese bank said it appointed Andrew Lim as an analyst in the banking team. Andrew joins from Matrix Corporate Capital where he led the European banks team.

TR EUROPEAN GROWTH TRUST PLC

The investment trust said Ollie Beckett will take over the management of the TREG portfolio, effective July 1.
