Moelis & Co has hired Lani Frew, Royal Bank of Scotland’s head of power & utilities for Asia Pacific, as an executive director in the latest addition to its expanding Australian operations.
New York-based Moelis has also hired Brendan Jones from RBS as an associate and Austock’s Grant Wong as an analyst.
The appointments were confirmed by Andrew Pridham, the head of investment banking for Moelis’ Australian business which was established in 2009.
Moelis has been expanding its operations in Asia as corporate deal activity rises in the region.

The Canadian financial services company appointed Victor Banjo, James Chiriaco, Cathy Lafee, Artis Rebinovs, Lola Tsetlin to its capital markets team in New York. Michael Seguin will join CIBC as executive director with the Financial Solutions Group (FSG) in Toronto.
Procter & Gamble has appointed IIonka Laviz, associate director for its feminine care brand Always, to its top global digital marketing role.
Laviz replaces Lucas Watson as marketing director, digital brand-building strategy and global e-commerce.
Burger King has appointed former McDonald’s marketer Jo Blundell as its new marketing director, replacing Sarah Power.
Blundell will take up the role on 3 May. She will report to Andrew Trounce, Burger King’s managing director for UK and Ireland.
