ITV has confirmed Simon Cowell will not take his place on ‘The X Factor’ judging panel this year, but will have a reduced role with “less on-screen presence later in the series”.

The North American retail brokerage unit of Swiss banking giant UBS AG appointed Charlie Cajero to head its Tucson, Arizona branch. Cajero joins from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
LAZARD ASSET MANAGEMENT
The global financial advisory and asset management firm appointed Tycho van Wijk and Tjeert Keijzer as portfolio managers who will be based in its Frankfurt office, effective 1st May. They join from ING Investment Management.
TOWERGATE INSURANCE GROUP
Europe’s largest independent insurance intermediary appointed Alastair Lyons CBE as its non-executive chairman.
The British bank said its former finance director Naguib Kheraj is returning to the bank to advise on strategic issues. Kheraj will advise chief executive, Bob Diamond, and finance director, Chris Lucas, “on a range of commercial and policy issues.”
The global wealth manager added five new bankers to its international private banking division, based in Geneva. Mike Ferguson joins as a managing director; Sylvie Orsatti, Sana Al-Habal, Philippe Sala and Fawziyah Khazal all join as director-level private bankers. All of them join from the Geneva office of Lloyds TSB International Private Banking.

The private equity investment management arm of Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) appointed Dongbai WangShe to be responsible for South and South-East Asia coverage. WangShe has joined from Adams Street Partners in Singapore.
LLOYD’S OF LONDON
The insurance market named property and retail executive John Nelson as its new chairman. It said Nelson would take up the position in October, when he will succeed current chairman Peter Levene.
PRINCIPAL GLOBAL INVESTORS
The diversified asset management firm appointed James Cahill to the role of director of European Fund Distribution at its affiliate Principal Global Investors (Europe) Ltd. Cahill will be responsible for developing fund distribution strategy and increasing sales of the firm’s European domiciled fund ranges.

The firm said Thomas Hughes will succeed Peter McNierney as its CEO.
