John Townshend, the former creative partner of Rapier, the outgoing COI chief, Mark Lund and strategist Kate Waters, are teaming up to launch a communications agency called Now.
Now opens its doors for business this week from offices in London’s Fitzrovia and with the promise of being “an agency for the accelerated world”.
The founding trio will be joined by two other directors, the former PHD media strategist Louise Jones and the former group finance director of Bartle Bogle Hegarty Nigel Maile, who will be non-executives and work with the new agency on specific client projects.
Jamie Pearson, business director at Starcom MediaVest’s, is leaving the Publicis Groupe agency after 15 years.

The company said Masashi Murata and Ilan Solot joined the global currency strategy team, emerging market coverage, based in Tokyo and London respectively. Lena Komileva joined the global currency strategy team in London as global head of G10 research.

The unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co hired Timothy Lee as head of treasury services in Hong Kong. It also appointed Emily Wang to the newly created position of head of treasury & securities services, Taiwan. Suratun Kongton has been appointed as head of treasury services, Thailand and Van Phan as head of treasury services, Vietnam.
The independent global markets and financial advisory firm said Aaron Tan joined as senior adviser in Hong Kong. In Singapore, it appointed Jean-Christophe Levens, Marc-Antoine Thiriez and Hugo Virag-Lappas as managing directors for its Asia-Pacific infrastructure finance business.
